Cat’s Cradle Collective
The innovative Cat’s Cradle Collective, formed by RCM composer and conductor António Breitenfeld Sá-Dantas and Maren Bosma, is an ensemble comprised of soloists aiming to combine music from all eras and of all styles into immersive performances. With thought-provoking themes and unique musical combinations, the Cat’s Cradle Collective provides the audience with an enriching and unforgettable experience.
The ensemble is named after the game Cat’s Cradle, an old game for one or more players in which a string is entangled in the fingers to form an array of different figures. The way the fingers are linked intricately through one string is what the ensemble aims to do musically; to form connections between people and musical pieces through an intimate experience for the audience as well as the performers. The programmes are themed after different figures in the game.
The Cat’s Cradle Collective debut will take place on December 12th, themed Jacob’s Ladder. For more information, visit the events calendar. To follow the Cat’s Cradle Collective on Facebook, click here.
