On International Women’s Day 2020, the Maconchy Quartet present the first in their very own RETAKE concert series at the Tabernacle, Notting Hill. Taking inspiration from London’s longest running new music concert series, the Macnaghten-Lemare concerts, they revisit the programme which premiered Elizabeth Maconchy’s first String Quartet and Grace Williams’ Sonatina for flute and piano, alongside the world premiere of FloridHorrid by Alex Paxton (specially composed for the Maconchy Quartet at this occasion) and Amy Beach’s Theme and Variations for string quartet and flute.
